Does Blue Ocean employ any risk checks on their ATS platform? Yes. Blue Ocean ATS enforces a 20% price band during its trading session. Orders entered at the open or during the session that are priced more than 20% away from the reference price are rejected. The reference price is the last eligible sale for each NMS security printed on a national securities exchange as of 7:30 PM ET. In addition to the 20% price band, BOATS applies single-order checks for maximum share size and notional value on every order.
