BOATS Acknowledgment Timing at Session Open
Some ports may show slightly higher acknowledgment times at the start of a session. This is normal behavior and does not indicate a system issue.
Why This Happens
Ports that are newly activated or lightly used generally do not match the low-latency performance of ports that carry heavier, consistent order flow. As a port processes more traffic, its latency profile improves and begins to align with long-standing ports.
Brief acknowledgment spikes can occur during micro-burst market conditions. These momentary increases do not reduce system throughput.
Expected Behavior
-
Lightly used ports may have higher ack times at the open.
-
Latency improves as traffic volume increases.
-
Short-term spikes can occur during bursts without operational impact.
